Studio Hire...

The studio

Our studio was purpose built for our own requirements within Rich Mr Sax Ltd, to capture and record high quality acoustic music and voice-over recording for corporate projects. Whilst small, the studio offers a warm and inviting environment, with well equipped control room and separate acoustically treated recording booth.

The booth itself measures approx 2.5m x 2.5m and is designed to operate as a dual purpose space, providing a flat acoustic response for vocals, but a brighter more harmonically rich sound for acoustic guitar etc. This has been achieved by treating the walls at different height in different ways and has been proven to work beautifully in our recent projects.

We hire our studio by the hour or day and can confortably accommodate 3-4 musicians in a session (the booth accommodates 2 musicians at any given time). Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate live drums, although Latin and Hand percussion are no problem.

Recording

Our system is based around the superb "Digital Performer" software suit from Mark of the Unicorn, arguably one of the best professional recording system currently available. Our Apple Mac based system is capable of recording up to 96 digital tracks (although realistically we try to work with 32 tracks as a standard), at 44.1, 48 or 96Khz. Digital performer is also Pro-Tools compatible

Midi

We have an extensive Midi rig, with approx 128 max midi channel capacity. Our rig includes modules from Roland, Korg, Ensoniq, Alesis and Akai.

Live instruments

An impressive array of guitars (electric and acoustic) are available for use, spanning custom models as well as Fender, Takamine and Epiphone. We also keep a small stock of hand percussion (shakers, cabasa, Bongos etc) on hand, just in case the rythmn gets ya!
